What is better? Korg Tr61 or Roland juno-g?
here is what i need:
1. velocity touch/touch response (aftertouch is just optional)
2. lots of good/quality sounds like piano (grand piano), organ (hammond w/ good leslie effect), trumpets, trombones, saxos, other horns. or can you suggest any other keyboard or synthesizer?
3. can make your own patches with many adjustable splits and layers
4. can access these patches fast (useful for me in live situations since we gig regularly)
I have always been a fan of Korg more. Most of Rolands sounds are real Gimicky and cheap. If you are looking for the standard "DJ" style sounds then Go Roland. If you want warmth and genuine great audio go Korg. the only good thing about the Juno-G is the Audio recoding feature is standard, with the Korg you have to pay $200 more for the sampling board bringing the price up to about $1200 , but i will tell you Korg has allways been a good choice. Korg also has the BEST pianos and Orchestra sounds. Both workstations have the ability for user patches, and splits ,layers.If you are also worried about professional image the TR is better Looking and the Juno-G looks like it was dug up some where. and last but not least the TR has the Sweet RPPR meaning you can write patterns, assign them to keys and just hit the key to start the pattern and even trigger them Via MIDI. Korgs Sequencers have allways worked best for me. But i suggest before you buy. try them out.
