Is there a diffrence between a cornet and a trumpet mouthpiece?
I recently bought a Frank Holton & Co. cornet/trumpet from 1914. It has a smaller mouthpeice than a trumpet.
Yes, cornet mouthpieces are different. But what you're experiencing has more to do with it being an antique horn than anything else. You need to get a period mouthpiece if you want it to fit right. Do a search on eBay for antique cornet mouthpieces.
