Band Certified
How long will take to get PR visa to Australia?
I am Sandy, i live in India, i applied PR to Australia under skilled migrants (certified practising accountant), i have applied application form along with visa processing fees, ielts band score, police clearance certificate and educational and work experience certificates? I would like to know how long will take to get Visa.
Accountants are in a unique situation in that some are processed as CSL and others as MODL depending on the applicants IELTS scores.
The answer will depend on whether you have at least IELTS 7s across the four bands and can apply as an Accountant for CSL priority processing or if you have a lower IELTS score and can only apply with a MODL occupation. If CSL, it should take 6 - 8 months if there are no problems with your application. If MODL, it will be at least 18 months and probably longer if you've only just applied. No MODL applications for any occupation have been processed in 2009 and none will be processed until at least July 2010 so there will be a massive backlog by the time processing begins again.
If you have high enough IELTS for CSL, it may not be treated automatically as a CSL occupation and it may be an idea to advise General Skilled Migration, Brisbane that you qualify for CSL processing . Once you have lodged all the documents required for a case officer to make a decision, and if your application has not yet been allocated to a Case Officer, send an email to the following address and ensure you quote your TRN and Occupation in the email subject line - Brisbane.GSM.Documents@immi.gov.au
